All the
trainees at the Guabuliga Vocational Training Centre with the exception of the
pomade trainees have taken their proficiency examinations with The National
Vocational Training Institute (NVTI). The examinations which were taken on the
8th and 9th September, 2015 lasted between 3 for the hair dressers and 4 hours
for the batik, tie and dye and the tailor and dressmakers. The programmes which were examined include; batik,
tie & dye, soap making, dress making, tailoring and hairdressing. This picture
shows what the dressmakers produced in the examination hall. Successful
candidates will receive their certificates in March, 2016. The dressmaking/tailors and hairdressing programme will officialy end on the 30th September, 2015. This will pave way for the introduction of new programmes into the centre.
